“Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17.
This compelling command encourages us to pray persistent, faith-filled prayers. It's extremely important that we pray OFTEN with authority and with expectation!! To be persistent we need to keep the lines of communication with God open.
When my son was younger, he and his cousin used to talk constantly on the phone. When they weren't actually talking, they still kept the line open. They would be doing totally different things from each other, such as playing a game online or doing homework. Yet, the line was always open between them. Often, they would have conversations, sing songs and quote movies lines together! Sometimes, they would just enjoy a comfortable silence. The connection was there.
Personally, as a member of AMERICAN PRAYER FORCE, I have committed to praying everyday for my city, state and country. I have a quiet notification alarm set as a reminder to pray specifically for America, at a certain time each day. This little reminder helps me. Beyond that, I want to keep the prayer-line of communication with God open and running throughout the day, in the same way that my son and his cousin kept communication open between them. I want to feel free to go in and out of prayer often, not only for my country, but for other situations that God lays on my heart.
Sometimes this does happen. I find that I am already in prayer mode because I just love talking to God. Sometimes I open up the “prayer gate” early in the day and just keep going. Other times, I am totally overwhelmed with the pressures of life and things that need to be done. At those times, prayer is not anywhere near the top of my list. However, I desire to always have the “line open”.
I want to be effective. I want to have a heart full of faith. I want to be able to 'storm heaven” in the middle of a crisis, both in my own life and on a national level, if needed.
Another verse encourages us come to God boldly. These are powerful verses. When we pray with persistence and boldness, we are in direct obedience with God's word. We can anticipate witnessing many substantial answers to our prayers as a result. We can expect a direct response from heaven, as we continue to cry out to God for America.
As members of the AMERICAN PRAYER FORCE, we can individually, and as a group, pray together and by faith, expect to see mighty things take place. As a prayer group, we must encourage one another to pursue a “pray without ceasing” kind of passion for our world.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy,
And find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
